Outback roundup

Blimey, what and eventful seven days its been, wandering the outback. Dirt for most of the way, lots of nice people, stunning outback isolation, some really nice scenery, some pretty boring scenery, some bizarre manmade stuff, Lake Eyre, the Dog Fence, the Desert telegraph line, the smallest town in Australia, feral camping and more dust than you would think possible. I’ve written each day, day by day, and will post them over the next few days, but for those of you who really can't be arsed to read it and just want pictures, here you go.

Bruce and Coralie whom I met in Burra and who took me to their house for coffee and a shower. Top people!

The road goes on and on

At last, Arkaroola

Yellow footed rock wallaby. And this one is even smiling!

Start of the Strezlecki Track at Maree. Only went a short distance up here just to say I'd been on it.

Gold find near Arkaroola

Rode up here but fell off. Too steep and the surface was very lose.

The Ochre Wall near Arkaroola. Cliffs cut by water but the creek is currently dry

Amazing skies in the Outback

Watertower. Just liked it.

Love this. The electrics shed at Arkaroola airstrip. A mix of old shed and solar panels. Funny.

Where we slept at William Creek. The shed was great because it pissed down all night.

  1. "Can't be arsed to read it" I think not m'am, that's why I follow your adventure as well as a physical aspect, there is also an emotional one, I imagine it's not all sweetness and light, and thats an area that interests me, it's no small undertaking you've embarked upon. there's plenty of blogs with pictures on, but yours stands out because you include all the ups and downs, it's like a book I can't put down !
Anyway, enough of the in depth analysis, sure you get enough of that, so keep going this is sterling stuff woman.
